Gold Works’ aim is to support the silversmithing, jewellery and allied industries with a broad base of services. Part of Metropolitan Works, Gold Works is integral to the distinguished Sir John Cass Department of Art Media and Design.

Through a joint programme with Holts Jewellery Academy and the Jewellery Industry Innovation Centre at the University of Central England, Gold Works is able to offer discounts on many of its services.

Continuing Professional Development Programme (CPD)

From January 2008, ‘Create’, a course aimed at mid career silversmiths and jewellers, will include the acquisition and updating of technical, hand and materials skills along with the opportunity to explore new technologies and materials. The CPD programme will run at intervals throughout the year and compliment the excellent short course programme.

Workshops and Prototyping

Gold Works provides the facilities for silversmiths, jewellers and the allied industries to explore new product development and access new technology through Metropolitan Works’ Pay&Go scheme. To enhance the Pay&Go scheme, practitioners can also book a one to one advice session to help develop design ideas and work plans.

There are quarterly network events, talks and symposia scheduled throughout the year. For an up to date view of coming events, please see our Listings Diary.
