Furniture Works offer specialist consultations with its staff, providing advice in many areas including pricing, new product development and manufacturing solutions.

We are also committed to referring businesses on to other organisations when expertise is not available in-house, and have an extensive network of agencies, academic institutions and businesses, enabling us to find you the best possible support.

Hidden Art

Hidden Art is an award-winning membership organisation which promotes and supports designer-makers whilst offering companies and members of the public access to original design. Hidden Art offers free membership to furniture manufacturers so they may benefit from the following services:

Collaborations
Get involved in collaborative projects with designer-maker members in developing new products for new and existing markets. These might include the Hidden Art Exclusives Range for the Hidden Art E-Shop (www.hiddenartshop.com), trade fairs such as 100% Design and The Milan Furniture Fair, and a range of products and merchandise for the 2012 Olympics.

Promotion
Business promotion through the Hidden Art Services Directory on the website’s Members Area, including monthly networking events and the Annual Forum.

Access to designer-makers
Access to the Member’s Area on the website (www.hiddenart.com) with information on current manufacturing opportunities and the network of Hidden Art designer-makers. Sector updates, regular e-newsletters, and the Hidden Art quarterly magazine.

 
 
London Manufacturing Advisory Service (MAS)

The London MAS provides a comprehensive range of services which help manufacturers achieve measurable improvements. In particular, MAS offers support in the following:

Improving efficiency
Lean manufacturing is central to the MAS’s approach. Lean techniques are a simple, cost effective way to improve productivity and boost profits. After the initial free consultation period to identify your needs and goals, MAS offers up to five days of heavily subsidised hands-on training.

People and training
The MAS will help you build an effective workforce by identifying and supporting appropriate training.

Marketing and communications
The number one concern for manufacturers is the need to generate more sales and improve marketing. The MAS diagnostic provides the opportunity to address your organisation’s market issues. MAS offer a range of services to assist you in designing and implementing sound marketing activities.
